Here’s a little quip for you: I made a mistake in buying my first portable grill.

I instantly assumed that all grills are the same — they cook food and grill my favorite steaks and bbqs, right? Boy was I wrong! The first grill I bought was not effective at all. It didn’t heat up well and I ended up burning an entire batch of pork kebabs. This is why I want to make sure that you are able to make the right decision in choosing the best portable grill for you.

If you have not fully maximized the use of these portable grills, you should know that each of the parts would be extremely important in making sure that you are able to enjoy great tasting and flavorful meals with your loved ones. Here’s a rundown of some of the parts of a portable grill and how you can make the best choice!

Let’s first look at the surface of the grill. Try to make a trip to your nearest grill store and you will find that there are also several different kinds of surfaces. There are some that will be flat and smooth, while others will be ribbed to help achieve that “grilled” look. Others would also have what they call a barbecue surface. You can make a decision depending on how you want to use the grill, but if there’s one thing that you should be looking at, you should make sure that the surface should be non-sticky. Unless you want to spend a lot of time scrubbing and cleaning the surface, the sales staff should tell you that the pan or grilling surface will be non-stick.

While it is quite evident that a portable grill should be lightweight, there will be some brands that will contain several attachments and accessories that will make your grill really heavy and difficult to carry around. Make sure that you also ask the staff to show you what it would look like while it’s cooking so you can determine the one you want. Most portable grills will have grill stands and portable trays – this too should be lightweight.

Don’t make a mistake in buying your first portable grill. Check out the parts and you can start to enjoy flavorful grilled meals!

Portable gas grills are a great way to grill. They provide you fast, constant fuel that is hard to beat. Also, many portable gas grills are large enough to feed just about any size gathering. Let’s dive into portable gas grills!

The fuel that powers a portable gas grill is propane. Propane is a unique fuel in both it’s cooking ability and transportation. Unlike many other fuels, such as wood and charcoal, propane requires special care wherever you take it. Propane is a highly flammable gas. You need to be certain that the valve to the tank is closed at all times you are not using the grill. Also, extreme heat can cause the tank to heat up. If the propane tank becomes overheated, it may explode. Propane overall is a unique fuel to work with. Besides the fact that it is extremely flammable, it also needs to be refilled quite often. To check how much propane your propane tank has left, you can use a couple different methods. The first method, which isn’t the most exact, is to lift the tank off the ground and feel how much it weighs. This method gives you a guess to how much fuel remains. Another method, which is becoming increasingly more common, is to have your propane tank sit on a device inside your grill that determines how much fuel is left. This method is fast and accurate in helping you determine when to refill your propane tank.

When you are considering purchasing a portable gas grill, you should consider how big of a grill you will need. One of the main reasons that you may be purchasing your portable gas grill is to entertain. In this case, you will want plenty of space on your grill to ensure that you can cook all types of different food. With the wide selection of grills on today’s market, there is sure to be a grill that will be the right size for you. Many portable gas grills are growing larger, as they become much more popular.

While propane is the most common type of fuel for portable gas grills, natural gas is another option. Natural gas is just starting to appear as an option for portable gas grills. This is due to the fact that many locations have started adding natural gas hookups, so you can continue to use your grill elsewhere. Just a few years ago, having a portable natural gas grill would have been impossible.

Portable gas grills provide great grilling options. They have consistent heat which allows you to cook your food fast and throughly. Having a portable gas grill means that you can cook your dinner from your own backyard or one thousand miles away. When you are considering purchasing a portable gas grill, make sure to research the material it is constructed out of, know about propane gas and consider how large of a grill you need to cook your food. Having a portable gas grill is a great way to enjoy the outdoors. photo credit: mhaithaca
